Just got back from sunny Florida!  It was a fun, HOT trip.  Temperatures stayed in the 90’s with some afternoon rain showers which helped cool off the crazy heat.  We stayed at Bonnett Creek Resort which is within the Disney complex, & where my brother has a timeshare.  No Disney World parks this year!  We chose to go Universal Studios this time, and so happy we did as all of us, including the adults had an amazing time!  Florida is always a good idea……

We finally went to Frankie’s Italian, a new neighborhood spot that opened up in Leslieville last April.  The concept is Italian home cooking, served tapas style on small plates.  Great for sharing.  The hubs and I had the burrata with olive oil, arugula and roasted tomatoes, amazing fresh baked bread, zucchini with fennel, lemon & parmesan, & two of the nightly special pastas; bucatini with olives, capers & baby octopus, and rotini served bolognese style.  Ok, this is my new go to fave italian resto!  Everything was delicious and made with fresh ingredients.  The service was very good as well.  I will definitely be back again, maybe even this weekend! I’ve been wanting to check out these restaurants in the city; The Civic, for brunch, since it is in my neighbourhood and I was keen on checking out the hotel’s interior design; La Banane, because of my love for french food, and lastly, La Chabrol (french again, yum).  Loved them all, I will be back again soon.  The Civic – 106 Broadview Ave. | La Banane – 227 Ossington Ave. | Chabrol – 90 Yorkville Ave. – all in Toronto
